ORW Maggio OVZ Zinfandel '22

A rare white gem from Pinot Noir's heartland. Pale gold with green flecks, this Chardonnay from the famed "Shining Mountain" vineyard offers a nose of lemon zest, crushed oyster shell, and a haunting jasmine note—a signature of Dujac's whole-cluster pressing. The palate is chiseled yet lush, with flavors of yellow peach, raw almond, and a saline finish that Vinous (95 pts) calls "Chassagne meets Montrachet."** Aged 16 months in 25% new oak (Seguin Moreau), this 2021 cool-vintage marvel (harvested September 30th) balances racy acidity (pH 3.2) with textural depth. Best 2025–2035 with turbot in beurre blanc or hand-dived scallops. Only 3 barrels made.
